I saw old posts about convertible top installers in Des Moines.  What about in or near St. Paul?  Anyone done it themselves?  We got our red Miata in 1989 (the license is "MIATA")   It's still a lot of fun, but starting to get somewhat weathered and we will finally need a new top.  A few years ago I saw some tops with windows that wrap around a little on the sides.  Can't remember if they were plastic or glass, but I don't see them advertised now.  I read that it takes about 7 hours to do the switch.  Just wondering if a non-mechanic can do this job or if I need to look around for someone who knows how to do it.  I recently replaced a muffler in a Samurai, so I'm not totally inept, but this looks quite a bit more complicated.  I'd appreciate suggestions.

I saw an installer looking for a side job couple of months ago on C.L. - I was charging something like $250 for the labor with your own convertible.  If I find it, I will post it on here for you.
