Good Morning, Adopt-a-Highway volunteers!

Looking at the Weather Channel's hour by hour, there is only a 20% chance of rain in Maple Plain from 8-12. So I'm going to go on with the clean up. But I'll leave it up to you if you want to participate. But, please consider the drive and lunch.

Thank you

With all the events that have come rapid fire over the past coiple of weeks, I wanted to take a moment to thank Chris Holt for organizing the Adopt-A-Highway event.  Even with a little rain, I think everyone involved had a good time.  To commemorate the day, Chris wrote a poem and I think I have his permission to post it here: (it was too good to keep in hiding)

Our clean-up went off without a hitch, but spent the morning in the ditch.

You may have head Chris holler, when he found one dollar.

Our gloves were blue, did anyone happen to find a shoe?

The weather was not the best, Bill and Andrea had to make their vest.

Our shoes were damp, nobody seemed to have a cramp.

I think we walked four miles, but then we had twenty smiles!

We collected a dollar thirteen, then picked up a wrapper for Dentyne.

For a picture we posed, but most of our road had been closed.

To keep your bag open use a stick, or use Darrel’s tool to help you pick.

For forty-five minutes we drove, the end of our route was Maple Grove.

Thirty four bags were filled, nobody touched what had been killed.

At The Lookout we did eat, but by then we had dry feet!

Chris
